Job Summary:
As the Catering Sales Manager for the Millennium Knickerbocker, you will be responsible for driving revenue through the proactive sales of catering and event services. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales and negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships. This role requires a proactive and results-driven individual who can collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of events and exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development:
- Proactively identify and pursue new catering and event sales opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients and event organizers.
- Meet and exceed sales targets through effective lead generation, prospecting, and closing deals.
- Event Planning and Coordination
- Collaborate with clients to understand their event needs and preferences.
- Work closely with the hotel's banquet teams to create customized event proposals.
- Ensure seamless coordination and execution of events, including setup, catering, and other logistical details.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business.
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly, providing excellent customer service throughout the sales process.
Market Analysis:
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demands.
- Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Director of Sales and other hotel departments to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business goals.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth event operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in catering sales or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of event planning and coordination.
- Knowledge of Amadeus Delphi Sales & Catering system highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Results-driven with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Knowledge of local market trends and competition.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
